Kashish – Dreaming of Becoming a Police Officer

One of the Success Story of Literacy India

Ten year old Kashish was unable to read and write simple words or sentences in any language (Hindi or English) also was unable to perform a simple math calculation. She is studying in Govt.  Secondary school Bureda Bhiwadi Alwar Rajasthan .When Literacy India set up its innovative program lab in that School, Life sparkled for Kashish. She was always inquisitive towards technology but never received such a platform for learning. She was dumbfound to see the younger children operating computer seffectively, she took admission and her knowledge level went under pre-evaluation , where she could score only 5%, too low of her age student. Post Pre-test, she was admitted in to the program that taught her languages as well as mathematics through variety of audio-visual aids i.e. songs, stories, interactive activities, experiments, etc and also sensitized her on social issues. With an aid of digital media, she quickly grasped content, which persuaded her to study at home as well. Learning with Gyantantra Udbhav, successfully brought revolution in the academics of Kashish within a period of 6 months and displayed a splendid performance, assessed from Post-test where she scored 83%. She aced her learning in Hindi, English and Maths, she is also helping other new students in the lab. Her Teachers are quite proud of her and Kashish feels closer to her dreams now.

Under Corporate Social Responsibility & Under Individual Social Responsibility More Schools can be helped and More Labs can be started for the Students like Kashish who are hungry to learn and come out of the darkness of Ignorance. Literacy India was recently awarded by Rajasthan Govt for its work in Bhiwadi Govt. Schools.
