Sasthi,34, embodies resilience and hope. Despite her husband’s inconsistent income,she supports her family and her 18-year-old daughter, Gayatri, who has severephysical disabilities. Gayatri, a student at Literacy India, is determined to
build a future through computer studies.Sasthi joined Literacy India’s vocational training, mastering stitching, embroidery,and tailoring over six months. Now a full-time artisan with Indha, her skill in Katha embroidery shines through in the eco-friendly bags she creates. Her earnings support Gayatri’s education and medical needs, ensuring a stable household income.
“I earn to support my family and my daughter’s school needs,” says Sasthi.

daily to our center, showcasing her determination.Enrolling in our vocational training program, Kurani’s meticulous hand embroidery on jute products led to her involvement in the INDHA Project. Her craft is not just a source of income but a source of immense pride.
“I aspire to open my own grocery store,” she shared. Kurani’s story reminds us that with education, courage, and determination, challenges can be transformed into triumphs.
