Empowering Young Changemakers: Advocating for a Green Diwali Celebration!

Students and Community members at the Rally.

Diwali, often celebrated as the festival of lights, took on a new meaning with our recent “Green Diwali Campaign.” This spirited initiative aimed to raise awareness about eco-friendly celebrations & empowering women artisans.

The highlight of the event was a rally that brought together 60 enthusiastic students from Classes 9 and 10. Their efforts not only engaged their peers but also made a significant impact on the local community of Bajghera village. They took to the streets to educate residents and younger students about the environmental impact of firecrackers. With fervent advocacy for a Green and Clean Diwali, they inspired the community to reconsider their festive practices and embrace more sustainable alternatives.

In addition to the rally, students delivered an engaging presentation on the history of Diwali, exploring its cultural significance and cherished traditions. This interactive session fostered a deeper connection between younger students and their heritage, enriching their understanding of the festival. To encourage participation, an interactive Q&A session followed, where students from Classes 1 to 8 eagerly joined in. Their enthusiasm was palpable as they raised their hands and actively engaged in the discussion.

Ultimately, the true essence of Diwali lies in the values of light, knowledge, and community. This event not only celebrated Diwali but also empowering women artisans to reinforced the importance of sustainable living, reminding us that true joy comes from cherishing our planet and each other.
